When I thought about the idea of creating a blog for our Sisters community I quickly said out loud to myself, “I don’t know what to say”!
The funny thing about my statement is that I had just finished writing the manuscript for my first book! How could I possibly not know what to say? The audience I wrote the book for is the same audience I want to join our Sisters community. The truth is I was unsure if mothers would be interested in reading and more importantly contributing.
One of the things Sisters will get from me through the Heart Pages, our Unplugged online discussion board and in person is transparent-authenticity. It’s important to do more than just allow my Sisters to peek into my experiences, thoughts & feelings. I want to open the door! I believe its vital for the foundation of our community.
I had to realize as a woman I walk around with the stories of my life. I have volumes of experiences sitting on the shelves of my heart. Yes, I talk with my friends and they are my sounding board but I want to use my life to help others. This desire is part of the catalyst for writing my book. So, I had to shut down my fear and tell myself, “quit playing! you lived what you need to say”! Here’s my first blog in our Sisters community-YAY!
Sis, I encourage you to join our community and share the pages of your heart because you too have lived what you need to say!
